Kate Miles is a London based designer.  Her work is driven by experimentation with a wide range of materials and industrial finishes.

Kate attended the Royal College of Art where she received an MA in printed textiles.  Her final MA collection featured furniture pieces and wallpaper in which the intangible movements of plumes of coloured smoke were captured on engineered surfaces.  The collection was featured in POP magazine’s digital forum thepop.com:

‘Prints and furniture… so beautiful and awe-inspiring we think everyone should have one in their house!’

Kate was also named in, leading trend-forecasting company, WGSN’s Top Five Royal College of Art graduates of 2011.  WGSN wrote:

‘Katharine Miles was the stand-out student at the Printed Textiles show… Her vivid combination of colour and geometric patterns worked to great effect when used as a furniture surface pattern.’

Following her final RCA Show Kate worked in the design studio of Aston Martin Lagonda.  Here she capitalised on her previous experience in trend forecasting, gained at WGSN in 2009, researching  AML’s first bi-annual trend projection for 2015/2016 model years and developing colour palettes, new finishes and textiles for three global luxury trends developed for each of AML’s key market regions.

Kate currently works as a Colour, Material and Finishes designer at design consultancy PriestmanGoode in London.
